My love for family stories started when I was a little girl. I used to stay quiet while the adults talked, just so I could soak up every family memory shared in the room. Storytelling is one of my favorite things to do.
My passion became a professional mission after my grandparents passed away, and I became the "holder" of the family photos. Suddenly, I was the one navigating boxes of photos, slides, negatives, etc. Hoping to protect these images, I began to research the best way to preserve them. I started Photo Management with Joy to help you achieve the same peace of mind, using the same techniques I use for my own images.
My Story / How I Got Started
Becoming the caretaker of my family's physical history was my "aha moment." Although I have been a genealogist for over 30 years, standing in front of all those inherited boxes taught me that names on a family tree are only half the story. The real magic happens when you see the faces in the prints and slides that bring those stories to life.
